New Vision, New Feminism, New Blog

From the call for absurd comments came some brainstorming.

That brainstorming led me to my newest film montage: Say It Ain't So Feminism which you can see here on YouTube.

That montage led me to realize that I wanted an additional medium to talk to the world about feminism, my feminism in a way that writing cannot.

So, here comes my new blog: Fem Watch, which will be the home for all my digital projects - photography, films, and anything else that comes to mind. While A Womyn's Ecdysis will remain my home for feminist writings, I will be placing any of my other projects there.

Consider this my coming out to the world.

The link to your new blog doesn't work: you should change it to http://femwatch1.blogspot.com/.

    Thanks!

  5. I love it and can't wait for the next one...

    ...but...

Did you really have to wear some big earrings and a headscarf while quoting Nubian? maybe it's because I'm white, and maybe it's because I really Nubian, so maybe I'm overreacting or something, but then again Maybe that feeling of unease seeing that single quote spoken while you were dressed as you were dressed is actually valid.

And I don't want to be geting all up in your face about it or anything, because I like the formate, and I like the execution, and you're quite good in the peice, and it is just that one almost teeny tiny bit that sat uneasily in my brain (as in I did a spittake when I realised you were doing an "impression" of Nubian) and I want ot see more dammit...but...

It just seemed really random and unnecessary and maybe I'm just being silly or something, but I felt I should say something in case I'm not being silly if that makes sense.

  8. Dear R. Mildred,
Thanks for your comment. I really don't know what to say except that wasn't me "acting" like Nubian - a woman who I have never met and whose work I only admire.

I wore a head scarf and a pink tshirt that read HUGS NOT DRUGS because that's how I dress in real life. There was no relation to Nubian or anyone else. I thought to myself, "Eh, I feel like dressing like me for this one."
That was probably the one outfit that was most "me" and I can't really explain it much more than that.

  11. Jesus Mary and Joseph I had no clue the author of Full Frontal Feminism made that response to feminists of color. That irritates my sandnigger bitch self, to say the least. I've always hated that cover for that book. Great blog by the way, keep it up!

Hey there,
Before you leave a comment, just remember two things:
1. You are taking responsibility for a public comment
2. Anything that resembles racism, homophobia, classism, ableism, or anything based from religion, citizenship, or ethnic bias - don't bother commenting, you'll be deleted.
