New Motherhood

I have a saying:

Sometimes when there's too much to say, there's nothing to say at all.

There's so much amazing-ness to the new experience of motherhood. I am slowly coming to a schedule, a level of health and clarity where I will be able to write and express the up and down and everything in between about my new life unfolding. Until then, photos will suffice my journey.

Poetry on Feminist Catholicism

I wrote a poem about Adam and Eve. Well, more about Eve than Adam.

I don't believe in the literal interpretation of Genesis. I don't believe in the apple, the garden, the tree, the temptation, the Fall, or the banishment.

I do believe that oral story telling is a rich part of tradition and somewhere along the way, telling stories began to lose their power of metaphor.

In the literal, vein, however, I wrote this poem and designed a backdrop as I think more about my Catholic faith.

Transition's Velocity

Tomorrow is my last day of work and I am unprepared for it. For as keen as I am to move on, that doesn't mean I want to leave it a mess for my successor.

While my travels and exhaustive job 'n moving process continue, art delivers much therapeautic relief lately. My new photoproject, "Transition's Velocity," will explore the driving forces of my emotional psyche these days.

Photography Poetry: Community

I'm experimenting with a new project. This one is called "Community," based on meeting some pretty amazing women of color at the Allied Media Conference a few weeks ago. I'm incorporating some quotes from some notable feminists of color and intertwining them with the photos I took in Detroit.

I'm beginning to pack for Boston.

The sentimentality is beginning, but I know I am taking the new community I have formed with me.
