It also helps to search for amusing and poignant pictures for your blog to illustrate the things that give you angst.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30786752.post-18012568822201399142007-05-31T20:52:00.000-04:002007-05-31T20:52:00.000-04:00Wow - I'm not sure what to say to sooth your femin...Wow - I'm not sure what to say to sooth your feminist angst. I confess, I am a "privileged" fem (white, well-educated, though unemployed). However, I genuinely understand the anger you feel. I am lately much more concerned about the raping of women in Darfur than than the Hillary wars. Feminist criticism of our political, cultural, economic scene in the west is important. However, you are correct that there is a blind spot - women beyond our door steps. Not deliberately blind, I don't think, but perhaps tuned out.

As for envy - I've felt that too. I read a recent post by an academic fem about a conference and felt wistful about all the conferences I can no longer attend being unemployed - I used to present papers on fem studies. But, at least I used to get to go - some never have had and perhaps never will have the opportunity.

So now I blog.

I'm sorry for this long intro to me. It's just that your post really resonated with me. Your honesty was great. For what it's worth, your post served me up a useful dose of humble pie.VWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01875869221696200724noreply@blogger.com
